Celtic vs. Manchester United

Parkhead

Celtic v United

It's easy, really. We win, we're finishing top of the group. A draw, and United are through. Celtic win, United need a point against Benfica to go through.

Mathematics are not too difficult in this case and I'd fully back the lads to win at Celtic - but Chelsea come into town on Sunday and whatever Fergie might say, I'm convinced the players will be more focused on that game.

Celtic will surely be looking to give us a hard time. They are likely to bombard our defence with aerial balls as that can cause severe discomfort to our defenders, particularly when someone like Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is around. We must be organised in defence and I'm quite sure United's counterattacks will open them up as their back four is no stronger than Sheffield United's. (OK, I might be exaggarating a bit).

All in all, it will be difficult and to be honest, I'd completely satisfied with a boring 0-0 draw. The thing is, that it's highly unlikely.

Vital Quotes:

Gordon Strachan (Celtic manager)'It will be a great occasion. Is it the most exciting? Possibly. There's been a few games where I've been under a lot of pressure and the pressure has been completely different from this.

'The FA Cup final against Arsenal in 2003 was a big one.'

Ryan Giggs: "I`ve played in two or three testimonials at Parkhead, so I`ve experienced the atmosphere.

"There`ll be more of an edge to it for this match because it`s a competitive game. It`s a game you want to be in, a game you look forward to playing in.

"It`s just a massive game, with the connection between the two clubs. I had my testimonial against Celtic and it`s the Battle of Britain.

'We experienced it three years ago against Rangers and the atmosphere up there was unbelievable."

Celtic Team News:

Kenny Miller is poised to make his return after an ankle injury but Gary Caldwell is injured and thus unavailable. Bobo Balde is likely to take his place in defence.

Player to watch: Vennegoor of Hesselink

His aerial threat can cause us serious problems and he's good with the ball at his feet, too - he proved that at Old Trafford.

Manchester United Team News:

Gary Neville's troublesome calf might need surgery but he is likely to play in Glasgow. Darren Fletcher and Gabriel Heinze will be in the starting line-up, they will probably replace Giggs (or Evra) and Scholes.

Player to watch: Nemanja Vidic

He's in fantastic form and along with Ferdinand, their role will be vital. United would be satisfied if they didin't concede and our Serbian is the man for the job.
