QPR v United Preview

United return to West London this Sunday lunchtime for a fixture against newly promoted Queens Park Rangers. A win would see us reclaim our position at the top of the table with City not playing until Sunday afternoon.

Vital Quotes:

As we prepare to face Queens Park Rangers this Sunday lunchtime, Sir Alex Ferguson refuses to let our current injury situation get the better of him, remarking in his pre-match press conference,

"I think it`s how you handle the situation. We`re not panicking. We`ve got enough experience in the staff to cope with these things."

"We know it happens and there`s no point crying about it. You just get on with it, there`s nothing else you can do."

"You`ve got injuries, deal with it. As long as we don`t get any more, I think we`re capable of getting through it."

"We`ve got players capable of wearing the red jersey and they`ll wear it with complete confidence they can do well."

"We have enough players who have experienced what`s going to happen in the next few months anyway and they will be important."

QPR Team News:

Neil Warnock has a couple of doubts for this fixture. Anton Ferdinand is amongst those not available as is their keeper Paddy Kenny,

Matt Connelly is likely to replace Ferdinand whilst Radek Cerny will deputise for Kenny.

Player to watch: Joey Barton

The ex-Newcastle midfielder will be relishing taking on United and trying to show that he is capable of living with the best. Will he keep it clean? I guess we`ll only find out once the game kicks off

United Team News:

Sir Alex Ferguson has watched on from the bench as his first team squad has been ravaged by injuries.

The latest to join a long list being our club captain Nemanja Vidic who, courtesy of a knee injury sustained against Basel, is out for the season.

Vidic joins a list that already includes, amongst others, Anderson, Cleverley, Owen, Fletcher, Giggs and Hernandez.

Therefore, Sir Alex`s hands will be somewhat tied with regards to his team selection for this fixture.

Player to watch: Wayne Rooney

Buoyed by his brace, against Wolves last weekend, United supporters will be looking towards Rooney to keep this goal-scoring momentum going with an increase to his current goal tally.

Match Facts & Stats

United have the better record when it comes to meeting Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League. We are currently unbeaten in eight fixtures against the London side.

This will also be the first meeting between the two clubs since 1996.

We enter this fixture having scored in every Premier League game this season, would you back us not to score at Loftus Road.

Ref Watch:

Howard Webb is the man taking charge.

Match Prediction:

Queens Park Rangers may have carved out one or two shock results this season, beating Chelsea being one of them, but they`ve not set the Premier League alight. As is typical of a side managed by Neil Warnock, they`ll be combative but I reckon United will quell the early surge and emerge from West London with all three points in the bag, quite comfortably!

Next Fixtures:

Our next fixture is another trip to West London to take on Fulham on Wednesday 21st December.
