Welbeck Could Start!

Now this is one big thing. Many complained that we do not have enough local talent coming through and none of the lads have a chance of holding down a regular first-team spot.

Fergie, however, had hinted before that Danny Welbeck could be a superstar. And his progress looks set to be accelerated due to the shortage of strikers in the first team: he may even start tomorrow against City!

'I may bring in the boy Welbeck, possibly from the start,' Fergie said.

'The boy has a chance of making it. We think he has that temperament.

'I think we want to keep Cristiano Ronaldo as a wide player, so we are short up front. Louis Saha is not back and we could have played Ryan Giggs through the middle but I think Welbeck has got the temperament.

'We will see tomorrow but I need to be very, very clear about everyone's fitness.'

Now, I would love it. His style would complement Tevez finely and possibly his enthusiasm would make up for lack of experience - and maybe it's possible that City won't take him seriously. I support the idea of starting him, it can't possibly do any harm for the boy.

i am counting on mancity to get a point off you lots.
i think he should start. it would certainly do no harm to his confidence, and with rooney suspended its a great chance for him.
Isn't the type of game to be taking such gambles though, is it?
Boro 01
maybe, but with rooney suspended its the best time for him. also city arn't having the best run of games im sure his pace and determination will cause the city defence some problems. link him with tevez i think we have the potential for some goals of the pair
i would love to see him star but i think we got more chance of seeing god.
im glad to hear this, i wrote earlier on the vital man city site before i heard this news that i would start welbeck. for anyone who cares, my team was; VAN DER SAR, BROWN, RIO, VIDA, SIMPSON (or o'shea) RONALDO, ANDERSON, SCHOLES, NANI, WELBECK, TEVEZ subs: KUSZACZK, NEVILLE, CARRICK, HARGREAVES, GIGGS
never underestimate ur opponents.. esp ur derby rivals.
U4Life - no one cares, you mug
hahah U4Life, so much for all the bull***** yu have been sprouting since last week. what a performance by ur lads. that's not championship material is it, and now the destiny of the title is no longer in ur hands. So catch us if yu can. ARSENE WENGER's army marches on..
hahahahahahaha.. where was welbeck?.. he shud hv played
i surely beleive we have the best shot fotr the title now,we are the best team in the country at the moment and we surely wont fall off that easily, hahaha city made me proud!!gooners are here forever.ARSENE KNOWS
the arsenal
your not the best team so we had a stutter today we are gonna get ya next week
rooneyisgod tell me who the best team is then and how to you judge the best team?accept the fact that we are the best at the moment, the table dont lie my friend
the arsenal
i must admit, i fear we may have given up the title to arsenal, its in their hands, and regardless of how much i loath them i dont see them dropping too many points over the course of the season.....and more worryingly i see us losing more. for all the talk of ronaldo's greatness, it is rooney who is the more important. his drive, energy and spirit was missing today, and im afraid that if he gets injured we could lose further ground in the title reaCE.....we NEED a plan B.....tevez needs a strike partner, and im afraid giggs aint good enough and ronaldo is a winger. butr still, not too dishartneded, we still have the cup, and a better chance for europe than we ever had (if gooner fans want us to accept they are the best team on league form, they must admit we are the best in terms of european form. five wins and a draw from the group stages, i think this could be our year.) lookingt forward to the rest of the season, and hping that mark hughes and blackburn can do us a favour, god kbows if anyone is going to beat arsenal right now it would be blackburn...their their nerw bogey team after bolton.
Champions league group stage form means eff all mate, just ask the scousers. Hope we don't slip up tomorrow and rub your manc noses in it Sat with our 9k up there & late KO.
Blackburn our bogey team. Last season we beat them 2-0 and 6-2. This season drew 1-1 and knock them out the larger cup. Is that bogey? Rooneyisgod, today was a stutter? what was last week them. today was more like a tumble to 5pts behind! Lol CMON ARSENAL! 3PTS 2MOZ!
and the poor cockney reds are going out of their heads, coz united will win Feck all........
fran merida
2 3 4!!! ***** all, ***** all, ***** all
we will still win the leagueand i am so sure of that. and dAmn i cant wait to put you out the fa cup on saturday and see how much you chat then.
well you probably will win next saturday, coz i cant see your team playing so badly for three games in a row,but then again i was certain you would beat spurs...but they played you off the park, and i was so sure you would smash the citeh....but hang on a sec, they made you look average,so we will just have to wait and see,and believe me,we are a lot more dangerous than spurs and city, and you havnt beaten us in three games now,two losses and a draw.
fran merida
i expected you to beat spurs too but i guess you really dont want to go there do you. anyway once you do get beat on saturday will you still come on here talking or will you be quiet?
what are you talking about,we done the double over spurs, unlike your team,oh yeah you did do the double, you lost twice to city...ha haha ...what a shame
fran merida
We're gonna take the title again and Arsenal will drop points soon, so don't get too exited you Arsenal fans, you're not good enough to win the league. Still there are a lot of games to come, I'd bet you can't stay at the top for a long time.
Star 3000
hmmm let me see, hasn't The Arsenal spent most of this season on top?yeh your right, all that matters is who is on top at the end
fran merida
Probably you won't be there at the end, a lot of tough games to come... anyways, let's see how you like it when you're beaten on saturday.
Star 3000
arsenal fans are so naive. 5 points ahead for the first time in god knows how long, they've forggotern what a real title race involves. comebacks. lets see if your so called "perfect" team can handle the pressure of expectation now that rests on their shoulders. im gonna love the look on the faces of gonner fans when they wake up in may and see their team third in the table having *****ed up royaly. uts and chelsea are proven are not. you dont have the legs to go the distance but by all means for now enjoy your brief forray at glory and in may we will se hpw talkative all the gonner (unts feel, yeah?
No star3000, YOU have a lot of tough games to come. Look at your fixture list. If we beat blackburn, lose to you mancs utd in the fa cup then beat milan, you really think we'd be upset? fa cup is just a distraction from the main goal, taking back that PL Titlr and getting that CL/
Havent got the legs? Your boys are the ones falling off the rails. 1 point from 6 U4L. And what if we beat you at OT in the prem? You wanna watch out you dont fall to 3rd.
And DO you really think beating Milan is gonna be easy?? more like a joke if you ask me... actually I'd be happy to watch you humiliated at OT next saturday and the damn sure you aren't gonna have an easy game against Blackburn.
Star 3000
No one said it'll be easy. the prem and CL are never easy. but we can beat bburn. and especially if we get all our injured players back we can beat milan. you need to worry abt lyon. Be back when the lead is 5pts
yeh so whos position would you rather be in? 5 points in front or 5 points behind,i think the pressure is all on you,its easier to keep winning when your in front.
fran merida need to get a life you moron!!
im honestly cant see arsenal dropping points. and even if they do we have to have a perfect run..we need to be realistic. but i do think we have a very good chance in europe and beating arsenal in the fa cup
and i think we should start looking behind us because with chelsea in great form there a threat
you gunners fans better hope your team win tommorrow becoz you have lots have said so much stuff that one might even think you won the epl already.
* you lots
at least if we draw its still 6 ahead of chavski and 3 ahead of utd. But we gotta win.
ian7, you better keep your fingers crossed for Arsenal today. simonm, I don't count Chelsea as a threat, their results are just as poor as ours, so I for one not to worry about them yet.
Star 3000
Just bought a new shirt for me Missus...
Blue is the colour
Blue is the colour
Star, you better keep youre crossed too. BITC, you're lowering yourself to spuds level, they all bought Barcelona shirts.
lets all talk in may when the trophies come to manchester not before hand
hahahahaha lets wait for may,5points ahead and we closed the goal difference
the arsenal
lol looneyisgod, keep waiting and keep chasing us. Arsene Wenger is GOD..
i will keep waiting cause after last night even though you won it just made me more sure that we will win the league
and why is that? Because we only won 2-0 as opposed to 5-0. 2-0 is all we needed to make the goal diff even after being 7 behind. and with us being top scorers, we'd win on goal difference. You lot are in very very poor form
I love all this blind arrogance from the nearly men of football! If you Arsenal lot don't start behaving and getting realistic we won't even let you have second! Now go to bed!
ian you wont beat us on goal difference cause we have a better defence then u and come th3e end of the season we would have scored more then u 2
