Vidic Could Miss Pompey Game

Nemanja Vidic is a major doubt for Portsmouth's visit on Wednesday as he's hit by a virus.

There was much gossip about Vidic falling off a camel and thus injuring himself but Fergie sticks to the official version despite the murmurs.

'Vidic had a virus, so he didn't play against Spurs,' Ferguson told MUTV.

'The doctor went to see him on Sunday and he was quite poorly. In fact, his whole family aren't too good at the moment.

'We'll see what he's like during the week, but whether he'll be ready for Wednesday, I don't know.'

Isn't it ironic that two of our hardest players (Rooney and Vidic) were hit by viruses? You would expect Anderson and Ronaldo to suffer, given that they are hardly used to such a cold winter...

cant say i would be sorry to see vidic miss out as he is a fantastic defender - he looked abit of a liability when he first signed, but soon showed his true quality and for me outshines rio. clearly i dont see either week in week out but i reckon that rio is made to look 'so good' because of vidic...
