Fergie relief at win (AUDIO)

It seemed to be one of those afternoons for Manchester United. Restricted to shots from long range in the first half hour of the match it was the visitors who took the lead through Robbie Keane.

Carlos Tevez swept home following a Michael Dawson error before a frustrating start to the 2nd period saw the visitors create good chances until the Spurs defender erred again by getting himself sent off for handball in the area, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring easily from the spot. Ronaldo capped the performance with a shot that squirmed under Radek Cerny with two minutes to go as the visitors pressed for an equaliser.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, speaking after the match, said his side came up against worthy opponents.
