Real Admit Defeat

Real Madrid sporting director, Pedrag Mijatovic has today admitted defeat in the long-running saga to sign Utd and Arsenal stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Cesc Fabregas.

Talking to Radio Marca the former Serbia international stated that their long hunt to land the Premier Leagues top scorer was 'impossible'.

'It is obvious that a player like Cristiano Ronaldo would be very welcome here, but he is at a great club in Manchester United...'

He went on to state

'...I see it as an impossible signing.'

At the same time, Mijatovic seemed similarly as bleak on thier chances of luring Arsenal wonderkid Cesc Fabregas to the Bernabeu.

'We are not the only team who would like to have a player like Cesc, but he belongs to a big club in Arsenal and it is an almost impossible signing...'

'...I am very clear that we are not going to waste time on things we can not do...'

'...We will see what happens in the future. It is indisputable that this is a very interesting player, but the signing would be terribly complicated...'

So just a day after we discovered Ronaldo's mother was plotting a move to sunny Spain along with her son, it seems she may have to stay in sunny Portugal instead (what a shame!)

i mean come ON - why would anyone move from clubs like arsnal or man u, when they are the figureheads of the club?

For the lure of sunny Madrid, maybe. Though I don't know, that's a club that regularly make an arse of itself and of its players. I would not go there if I were Ronaldo but maybe he will care to to make his mum happy.
