It Was Only Relief, Says Fergie

It Was Only Relief, Says Fergie

Reading away was always going to be a tough game and it definitely turned out to be one. I for one was immeasurably relieved when Rooney finally broke their resistance that reminded me of West Ham 1995... But enough of bad memories.

When the goal went in, Fergie made a quite strange and I must admit, seemingly insulting gesture amid all his celebrations. However, he insisted that this was not meant to be an insult, only an expression of immense relief.

'All I was doing was expressing my relief at winning what was one of our hardest games of the season,' he said.

It will be investigated by the FA but most press reports agree that he is unlikely to be punished over his celebrations. But at least it's another moment to remember!

Funnily enough he accused Arsenal of celebrating like they had won the World Cup when we bagged a late equaliser against Utd.........it's funny how his stance can change when it's him jumping around like a looney eh!!
