Machede Earns Berbatov Comparison!

United have a very good chance of winning the Youth Cup this season, according to academy chief Paul McGuinness who is impressed with the Machede-Welbeck partnership.

Sir Alex Ferguson said before last season's Youth Cup final that one of the players in the team has a real chance of becoming a superstar, a major player at Old Trafford. The boss did not reveal the identity of said player but many thought it was Danny Welbeck who impressed ever since joining the Academy.

Well, if reports and McGuinness are to be believed, he's got a partner of equally great potential now, with the arrival of Federico Machede.

'Federico is a very good technical player,' the Daily Mail quotes McGuinness.

'He is a real Italian striker. He might not look as if he is doing much but when he gets it, his touch is very good and he makes good decisions.

'In some ways he has a style of Berbatov. He makes some very clever runs and is a very good finisher.

'He has fitted into the club very well and is on a really good wavelength with Danny Welbeck.

'People who watch the first team will be aware of how well Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez link up. These two young lads are capable of similar sorts of combinations.'

Well, I'm quite happy but. Giuseppe Rossi was supposed to be destined for great things and though he's banging them in for Villarreal, he hasn't become a Manchester United striker.

I hope both Machede and Welbeck will realise their potential and rise to the first team with ease. Let's start with beating Carlisle in the Youth Cup tomorrow.
