Lee and Shawcross To Depart

Kieran Lee and Ryan Shawcross could both sign permanent deals with their current clubs.

Shawcross is at Stoke right now and he's had an impressive stint there so far. They wish to sign him on a permanent basis and it is reported that the player has no objection. Some suggested that as we are in need of defensive cover, we should not let him go - but this is rubbish. Shawcross is a talented player who could go on to have a Premiership career but he won't cut it at United and we should not block his progress.

Kieran Lee has joined new millionaires Queen's Park Rangers and has already expressed his delight about it. He refused to rule out a permanent deal later as he loves his new club. Lee, being a genuine utility player, could be used by United I think, especially considering our lack of options on either flank of the defense (if Silvestre and Gary ever return, the problems will ease of course). And he's talented enough to be given another shot here.

Oh, and older news which I forgot to report: Jonny Evans has gone back to Sunderland on loan until the end of the season. Well, the lad enjoyed a hugely successful campaign there so it could help him in the long-term - and my oh my, Roy Keane is in need of decent defenders.
