Fergie Agrees: Lyon Are The Toughest

Sir Alex Ferguson was not exactly overjoyed at the prospect of facing Lyon in the second round of the Champions League.

'Maybe it is the hardest of the five we could have got,' he said.

'Lyon have won the French championship for the last six or seven years, which is incredible given the number of players they have lost over the last few years.

'It will not be an easy game but hopefully, by the time we get there we will have all our squad available.

'That is a pre-requisite for the challenge anyway. If I can pick the team I want I think we will have a good chance.'

The first game will be played at Stade Gerland on February 20, the return leg will be staged at Old Trafford on March 4.

Oh come ON! Toughest of the five? Thats a bit going too far. Fine they've been six-time champs, but has he seen the league? Its pathetic to say the least. I dont think United will have much trouble.

Having said that, they are hard to break down, but certainly not one of the most feared in Europe.
