Rooney Craves European Glory

Wayne Rooney has stated that United's aim is to win the Champions League.

The Reds won their group with impressive ease, losing their flawless record only in the last round at Rome. The young side that drew in the Olimpico was captained by Wayne Rooney who simply loved the experience of it.

"It was fantastic to captain the team, and I think it was a good result and a good performance," he said, adding encouraging words for the young players (not forgetting that he's one of them...)

"It`s a great experience for them to get Champions League football under their belts. I'm sure it will have helped them a lot. Pique, Evans and Simmo did really well. They have great ability and bright futures ahead.

"As a team I thought we did very well and got off to a great start, putting them under a lot of pressure. Gerard Pique scored a great goal and we had a couple of chances in the second half to win it. We kept going after they scored and in the end a draw was probably a fair result."

Would you like Rooney to become Manchester United's captain one day?

Rooney is a grate player but he is young yet, he can become our captain if he behaves better on the pitch and controls his feelings.
