'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Giggs Receives OBE

Ryan Giggs has collected an OBE for his services to football.

It had been announced earlier that he was going to receive the award but the precise date had been kept quiet. Now we know he collected his award from the Queen today.

'It's a very proud day for me and my family,' he said.

Sir Alex Ferguson, the man who was his manager during every one of the 736 appearances he has made so far during his career, is owed much by Giggs and he does not hesitate to admit it.

'He has been down a couple of times before and just said enjoy it.

'I'm lucky to play for such a great club for such a long time and to have had a successful career.'

And this great club is lucky to have had such a player for such a long time now... Well done, Ryan Giggs OBE!

Congratulations to Ryan Giggs. A model professional. It's a shame that someone with his talent hasn't gone to a World Cup, to be honest.
