Owen Should Be Fit For Anfield Clash

Owen Should Be Fit For Anfield Clash

Owen Hargreaves will probably be fit for Sunday's showdown with Liverpool.

The 26-year-old midfielder missed the 4-1 win over Derby due to a slight calf strain but it was only a precautionary measure, Sir Alex Ferguson hurried to state.

'Owen had a slight strain in his calf in the warm-up,' he said.

'We can't take chances at this time of year with the number of games we have in
December, so we withdrew him and brought Michael Carrick in.'

He is unlikely to be on the plane to Rome but he won't be needed there. However, he's vital to our hopes of getting something at Anfield and it's good to know he'll probably be available.
