'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Gary 'Setback' Neville

b>Gary Neville has suffered another injury setback and it looks less and less likely that he will ever return.

The United skipper sustained an injury against Bolton on March 17 and though he had been thought to miss only a couple of weeks, he hasn't played ever since.

It is worrying to say the least and though there was light at the end of the tunnel when Fergie confirmed he was considering using him against Roma, Nev suffered another setback and his minor niggles look likely to end his career...

'Gary's had another setback,' Fergie said.

'Obviously it's disappointing. He's gone back to the specialist for him to have another look at it but, at the moment, there's nothing positive on that at all.'

'It isn't getting serious. He just keeps getting niggling injuries.

'It's a concern that he gets small setbacks every time he gets ready to play. We need to sort it out and get him back as soon as possible.'

It's now even more disconcerting than in the case of Ole. At that time we knew he had serious, grave knee injuries and that it would be fantastic if he ever managed to return - which, eventually, he did.

Now, however, we are kept on the edge of our seats, waiting for news of Gary's fitness - only to be disappointed time and time again. Will he ever play for us? Not in 2007, that's certain now.
