No January Joy For Fergie

Sir Alex Ferguson dropped a strong hint that he will not be active in the January transfer window.

Andy Cole, Diego Forlan, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra - just a few select choices from Fergie's reign who were bought in January but required a lot of time to find their feet. In Forlan's case, he was sold before really catching fire!

It's no real surprise that Fergie does not like the January window. Over the years he's often been urged to buy in the winter yet usually he opted not to act. This will be the same this year, with the much-wanted new striker unlikely to arrive.

'I think the squad is good enough,' he told the Inside United magazine. 'We do not always get great joy in January. It takes time for players to settle in.

'Look at what happened with Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic.'

'Maybe we are short of cover in the left-back area now Gabriel Heinze has left, but other than that, we are OK.'

With Silvestre to return sooner than expected and O'Shea always there to act as cover for Evra... I still think that we are lightweight in the striking department. A left-back and a striker would not be bad, I must admit. Yet I agree that the current squad is capable of winning anything and no drastic operations are required.

Bosko-Macedonia

It was reported that the summer purchases by ferguson were all on the 'never-never' and investments for the future to help bring success and a return on investment. Consequently if things didn't work out, there would be no more investment for a considerable amount of time, at least until the 'never-never' payments were cleared. It seems, if ferguson has got it wrong, he's stuck with this lot for some time. The consequence of having american owners apparently!! Ask Benitez!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Sir Alex Ferguson did say that he has the best squad that he's ever had at United so why would there be a pressing need to buy? Carlos Tevez, Nani and Anderson were added to the team that won the title, should have won the FA Cup and almost got through to the Champions League final, so there aren't exactly too many holes to fill, are there?

Hehe thanks Bosko. Coz really, arent WE OUTSIDERS filling in these comments for THEM? =) I think with the money spent on Hargreaves, Anderson and Nani in the summer, Ferguson is not being provided with funds in January, and rightly so! Weren't they supposed to be the final pieces in the jigsaw? And frankly they haven't done ba aswell.

I fink he will sort sum players out !!!!1
