Shevchenko? You're Having A Laugh

Rumour has it that United are ready to bid Ł12m for Andriy Shevchenko. Has the world gone mad?

Really, people, get a grip, please. Who prints these rumours? Are they really serious?

I will state boldly that three or four years ago, I would have been overjoyed if the Ukrainian striker had joined us. However, things have changed since that. The most obvious thing is that he is past his peak. He's lost some pace and even more importantly, lost his confidence playing for Chelsea.

He would have done a lot better at us, simply because United's way of playing suited his style whereas Mourinho's rigid, disciplined tactics could not get the best out of him. It's not rocket science to see all these of course.

So, he would have done well at us... before. But now? Not a chance. He's not even worth that Ł12m now.

Slow news day? This news is so ridiculous, does it deserve to be front paged ?

bwhahha, Shevchenko to United? My my, now thats interesting =) On the other hand, I seriously cant imagine Fergie even thinking of bidding for him, atleast now!
raaid
would have done a lot better for you - like Veron perhaps! For some players the EPL just doesn't work out!
merlin
Yeah!! Had Shevchenko gone to United and not worked out, probably we would've been saying the same =)
raaid
shevchenko couldnt even perform in the championship. hes an old man now
rooneyisgod
Now this is going too far rooneyisgod. He doesnt even get playing time at Chelsea this season. Give him consecutive games, and he will perform.
raaid
i second that, if he was getting 90 mins, week in week out, he'd be playing differently, maybe not great but better than now.
SMOKIEJACK
Not saying he'd be scoring every week, but definitely better! Same for Pizarro.
raaid
Not Haviing Hiis Way Atm..But Has He Lost Hiis Great Talent ?
