Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Fulham match, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says England must consider Jose Mourinho if he puts his name forward for the managerial post vacated by Steve McClaren last week after his failure to progress to Euro 2008.

Fergie believes any top class manager should be considered by the FA, including himself and Arsene Wenger.

Following his FA charge for his sending off against Bolton Wanderers, Sir Alex says referees have to be more consistent as he considers the overall standard of officiating to be 'slipping.'

merlin thats just like those people, who when he managed us saw him as the villain, and now see him as the saviour of the English team. Talk of hypocrisy!
