Man Utd v Sporting Lisbon

With qualification already a certainty you'd expect Fergie to rest a few players but, probably still smarting from the defeat at the Reebok, he clearly has other plans.

'Sporting need to get a result, so we have to make sure that we don't play too many younger players on Tuesday. But the incentives are huge for us. If we win, we have won the group and therefore can look forward to being seeded when the draw is made for the knockout stages and that's important. We've also got an important game against Liverpool straight after the Roma game. Beating Sporting would allow us to rest players against Roma.' said the Red Devils boss.

Sporting have never progressed from the Group Stages of the Champions League and have it all to play for but I can't see past Man Utd at 4/7 William Hill are offering to get the points needed to finish first in the group.

Sir Alex has named his two former Sporting players in his line-up - and we all know what happens when you play your old club. Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani are priced at 6/1 & 15/2 respectively to score the first goal and 9/4 & 14/5 to score at any stage of the game.

It's going to be the same score as in Lisbon for me, 1-0 to Man Utd which is 11/2 with Hills. But you never know, some complacency could allow Sporting's Da Silva Liedson, on his return from injury, to sneak a score at 3/1. Maybe 13/5 is fair for the draw.

Why do we have to watch the boring game at OT when Arsenals second 11 is cutting Seville a new *********. It's a shame that this best ever united squad cannot hold a candle to Arsenals reserves

They score a perfectly good 2nd goal and it's ruled off-side. So it's not just Prem officials that are crap!!

Tevez just rolled over 6 times after an innocuous challenge. Has he been taking lessons?????

Saha is also a cheat. Can we name anyone in this line-up who's not a cheat?

Surprised saha didn't fall in the box there, even though he wasn't touched. Has he forgotten the instructions????

An extremely well worked goal there, every player knew that his touch would find a team-mate. Excellent play, no luck involved at all.

Well that was an absolutely outstanding display by the best squad ever assembled in the history of football. I was privileged to watch the entire game thanks to the wonderful asian television network. Who dived to allow ronaldo to score that phenomenal free-kick???
