'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Henry Wanted Tevez At The Emirates

Carlos Tevez revealed the former Gunner striker had tried to persuade him to join Arsenal.

It is no secret that Arsene Wenger considered going for Tevez and was put off only when he learned how far United have gone in their attempts to secure the striker.

However, Henry's role wasn't revealed until now.

'On one occasion, when West Ham were playing Arsenal, I bumped into Thierry,' said Tevez.

'We greeted one another and he asked me 'What are you doing playing for this lot? Why don't you come and join Arsenal - it's unbelievable you're not playing for a club like ours'.'

Of course he does not regret his decision and added that his English is getting really better.

'I'd like to stay at United for many years.'

'They look after me very well and, besides, my daughter is growing up in the First World.

'I've been learning English for two-and-a-half years and I'm getting better. A teacher gives me lessons every day, and when time permits I read books and study the dictionary.'

Imagine their partnership with Rooney when they will be able to talk to each other!
