'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Queiroz Talks Sense!

Carlos Queiroz made it clear that signing Miguel Veloso is not our priority.

The fact that recently we've done great businesses with Portuguese clubs and that we have close ties with Sporting led journalists to ask Queiroz about possible signings from Portugal at every opportunity.

United's assistant manager might be a bit annoyed about this neverending pestering, for he's come up with a really good quote about it.

'The scouting department is everywhere and it would be ridiculous to say that good players are not referenced,' Queiroz told Record.

'Miguel Veloso, Joao Moutinho, Quaresma, Bruno Alves, Bosingwa - all have been watched by us.

'Do we want to get these players? Of course, everyone does, however we can not work with 200 players!

'We have six players in Veloso's position, we signed Hargreaves this season and, at this point, he is not part of our options to buy as a priority.'

Wow, great. Some straight, honest words. And it's true: we can't work with hundreds of players, it doesn't do any good even in Football Manager.

Will the rumours about Veloso cease now? Not a chance I think...
