Bolton v United - Player Ratings!

Edwin van der Sar: Faultless at the goal, otherwise rarely troubled. One heart-stopping moment when he charged forward for a corner and Bolton got the ball but nothing came of it. 6

Wes Brown: No troubles with defending but his attacking contribution was non-existent. 5

Rio Ferdinand: Solid, sometimes headed the ball to the centre which is wrong of course but he can hardly be blamed for the defeat. 6

Gerard Pique: He's still only 20, performed admirably at Villa Park and had a good game today. If we do not count that horrible miscalculation that allowed Anelka to score the winner. 5

Patrice Evra: Faced with the brutality of Kevin Davies, he performed admirably, displaying courage. Should have crossed for Saha in the dying moments instead of shooting over the bar. 6

Luis Nani: Quite terrible. Tricks and dribbles that led to nowhere, bad decisions, awful crosses... 4

Michael Carrick: Anonymous. Should have done more damage with his passing but always went for the safety option. 5

Owen Hargreaves: Man of the match by a mile. Comfortable on the ball, tackled a lot and launched countless attacks with good passes or well-timed runs. An unexpected threat from free-kicks. 8

Ryan Giggs: His crosses went to nothing, his passes weren't as sharp as usual - it was clearly not his best day. 5

Carlos Tevez: Always a threat, he usually made himself available and tracked back to receive the ball in deep positions. Tried to link with Saha and it was not his fault that this didn't work. However... HOW DID HE MISS THAT? 6

Louis Saha: One good pass to Evra before Tevez's chance aside he did virtually nothing. Nothing worked out for him, he was taken off the park. 4

Anderson: His introduction changed the game completely. Smooth passing, lot of energy, good tackles, a lot of running. He was eager for the ball and provided the thrust behind our best period in the game. 7

John O'Shea: No impact whatsoever.

nani wasn't that bad, you are being really very harsh on him. not his best game but a four? honestly... anderson's contribution is very encouraging though, i agree on that
Vidicinho
horseworrier, i daresay we'll win either the league or the champs league or both. we have the best squad in europe, we and barcelona.
Vidicinho
We will easily win the league this season. i predict arsenal will be knocked out the race by the start of february.
rooneyisgod
i think nani deserves that four.

Always nice to see a shock defeat. Nothing against you, but I would prefer Arsenal to win the league as they play the best football around.
