Carrick Surprise & Hargreaves Back

Carrick Surprise & Hargreaves Back

Owen Hargreaves is back for the Middlesbrough game and Michael Carrick could feature against Arsenal next week.

Injuries, injuries, injuries. United scored 12 goals in the last 4 games yet the treatment room was in the centre of talk. The situation took a turn for the better now: though we know nothing about Scholes yet, at least Owen Hargreaves is back.

The 26-year-old midfielder played only three games for United so far and is desperate for more. He's finally recovered from his tendonitis injury and it looks as though he'll be in the starting line-up tomorrow. He won't play the full game, that's certain but will be a relief to see our No. 4 back in the fold.

Michael Carrick has a real chance of playing against Arsenal next Saturday which is a pleasant surprise: I did not expect him to play until after the Arsenal game.

'If he get`s the all-clear, then he`ll start training with us and will be available for the Arsenal game,' Fergie told manutd.com.

Tremendous. We still have no idea about Paul Scholes who will be sent for a second scan on Monday to discover the extent of his knee injury. Gary Neville is not ready yet - but almost, according to the boss.

'All Gary needs is an extra game. We`re trying to fix something in the next seven days. But he is ready to play. Friday was his 16th training session in a row, which is good.'

Wow, good, soon he'll have the 20th. Can't wait for it. But it seems certain that we will have to put up with Brown for a while... no complaints though, the guy did very well so far! On the left, there's no problem as Evra is fit and ready.

And a final note for those blessed with optimism in overdose: Louis Saha could also be available against Arsenal.

I say do not worry about Scholes. Anderson will do his job fine and there will be Carrick and Fletcher for backup. Things looking god for the champions, if we beat Arsenal, we'll win the league, I'm sure.
