Vidic Out For Two Weeks

Serbia team doctor confirmed that United defender Nemanja Vidic won't take part in the country's Euro 2008 qualifiers.

The big man bruised his head and suffered concussion against Wigan on Saturday and had to be taken to hospital. Fortunately, nothing too serious has come of it but he will miss his country's next two games.

'Manchester United's medical staff informed us by fax that Vidic's condition is not good enough for him to practice and play for the national team in these matches,' national team doctor Dragoslav Djordjevic said.

'His concussion will sideline him for at least five days, and in the next 10 days he won't be allowed to touch the ball with his head.'

That would mean he will be able to head a ball two days after our game at Aston Villa on October 27, thus ruling him out of that clash and leaving us desperately short of defensive cover. But I'd be surprised he did not make that game: I expect him to available, his head is a very tough nut to crack.
