Neville Blow For The Team Of Wounded

Neville Blow For The Team Of Wounded

van der Sar - Gary Neville, Brown, Vidic, Silvestre - Fletcher, O'Shea, Hargreaves, Carrick, Park - Saha.

If there was a first team game tomorrow, Sir Alex would not be able to call upon these players who, as you see, could form a quite good team.

But United's injury problems are set to ease: Nemanja Vidic had been taken to hospital but it looks like he'll be okay though he must undergo some tests. John O'Shea will be back in a couple of weeks, according to the boss which means he might make the Aston Villa game.

And the team of the injured looks set to lose its right-back: Gary Neville will play on Thursday in a reserve game against Liverpool.

'We are hoping to use Gary against Liverpool reserves this week. That's the plan,' Fergie told the Daily Star.

'He is getting better and he is improving all the time.

'He's over his last injury and he has been training now for over two weeks and he is at a good level.

'Because he has been out for so long, he needs games now and hopefully he can start on Thursday.

'It will be a good introduction for him game-wise.'

Further good news is that Darren Fletcher starts full training on Monday so he's expected to feature against Middlesbrough in the worst case. He might even make the game at Villa Park but don't hold your breathe.

good to see him back though he was not that sorely missed as it could have been. brown, o'shea, simpson and pique all did well in his absence. do we know anything about saha?
