Kuszczak In Goal Against Roma

Edwin van der Sar's toe injury rules him out of tomorrow's Champions League game against Roma.

The experienced Dutchman came off at half-time at Birmingham on Saturday and though his replacement Tomasz Kuszczak did a good job, the keepers' absence does not bode well for United.

'Edwin has a problem with his foot. Our medical team are taking care of the it,' Fergie said.

He won't play against Roma but Kuszczak has what it takes, according to Carlos Queiroz.

'Tomasz made one very good save and showed why he is a United player,' he said. Fergie added: 'It's a worry when you lose a man of his (VdS's) experience but Tomasz Kuszczak is very able and I'm pleased we've got someone as good as that.'

Last season it would not have made much difference whoever had stood in goal against roma at Old Trafford. A repeat of that would be welcome.

i think Van der Saar is living on borrowed time - that young geezer with the injury will surely take his spot - Foster that's his name!

i cant wait til foster is fit but i dont have much hope for kuszchak on tuesday hes a good shot stopped but he cant deal with crosses

Yeah, he's good in one-on-one situations and shots but crosses... Anyway, why Van der Sar is on the picture if Kuszczak is in the headline? Hopefully Foster will prove his talent when gets fit.

foster is going to be a great keepers as long as he stays out of the injury room not like kirkland
