Terry And Mikel In Trouble

Chelsea's bad month took a turn toward the downright awful as Mikel's appeal failed while Terry could be in trouble for his antics at the Nigerian's dismissal.

The Blues lodged an appeal against Mikel's red card which many believed had been harsh. However, their appeal failed.

'At a regulatory commission hearing, a claim for wrongful dismissal from Chelsea's Mikel John Obi was rejected.

'Mikel was shown a red card for serious foul play during the match at Old Trafford on 23 September.

'As a result, Mikel will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect.'

They will feel hard done by but there was no chance of success. FIFA does not permit red cards being downgraded to yellow, therefore they should have proved that Mikel should not have been punished at all. And that would have been a mammoth task.

And one might say Mikel's dismissal cost them a lot. Three-match ban for the Nigerian, they lost the game, and John Terry might face disciplinary action.

The skipper tried to take the red card out of Mike Dean's hand at the dismissal and might face a ban for his actions or at least a fine. With Carvalho injured, it's the last thing Chelsea needed, I'm sure.

It was incredible that he tried to take the red card out of his hand... if it was Rooney, he would be banned for three or four games but I don't expect such stern punishment to be handed out for England's Mighty Skipper...

I noticed him trying to take the card off the ref while watching the game. But i though the ref wouldnt pay any attention to it cause he stopped almost immediatelly. Its good to see that others get in trouble for their actions besides Rooney, Neville, and lately Ronnie... Would anyone like to report Joe Cole as well? Anyone? Please? I'll give you a pound for it!!!

joe cole can't be punished if the ref did not mention the incidents in his match report though he would deserve it above all, all night his only aim was to break legs
Vidicinho
So Vidicinho, can't a team go to the FA with video-evidence etc to prove a point? I always thought that that's what happened when ruud fouled an Arsenal player, dont remember details, and then got banned for a couple of matches?? Not sure though..
