'If It's Football, It's Vital'

United Won't Expand On Asian Market

Manchester United have made no contact with FC Seoul regarding 18-year-old Ki Sung-yeung.

The midfielder earned glowing praise for his performances in the K-League, the country's professional league competition and subsequently, he's been linked with United to join Ji-sung Park at Old Trafford.

I had my doubts about these rumours. I wasn't sure if they contained even a morsel of truth and if they did, then that concerned me. After all, Park, whom I like and respect, had already proven with PSV that he can cut it in Europe before he joined United. Signing someone from the K-League looks like another Dong-transfer and thank you very much but I don't wish that.

However, I shouldn't have worried it seems.

'We haven't heard from United or received any formal documents,' a Seoul official told reporters.

'It is the middle of the (K-League) season now, so organising a trial would be very difficult.'

All right then. (Of course, I still allow that it's possible he would turn out to be a huge success at us. In this case, I would acknowledge my mistake.)
