Liverpool Punished? No Way!
David Gill has written a letter to the Premier League to accuse Liverpool of tapping up Gabriel Heinze.
The Argentinian, once a cult hero at Old Trafford, turned on the style big time and had the cheeks to ask for a move to Liverpool who, he claimed, made the best offer to him.
United haven't agreed a transfer fee with the dippers so if they really made an offer to Heinze himself, than that's a classic case of tapping up, even more obvious than the Cashley saga.
If the Premier League agrees, then the club will launch a formal complaint and Liverpool will be charged and face punishment. Don't hold your breath though.
We all know that you can't even celebrate a goal against them without being punished yet their players and ex-players are free to provoke the fans (I'm talking about Robbie Fowler, in case someone haven't realised) so why would they be punished now?
Of course, after Benitez's ridiculous rant about how the fixture list, the referees, the weather and the global warming are against them, it's worth a try to see whether the Premier League have the guts to punish them. But I don't think so.
