Tevez Jailed For Evading Tax?

Wouldn't it be fishy if after all the trouble of signing Carlos Tevez, he got himself jailed for tax evasion?

It would be a real kick in the teeth and according to press reports in Brazil, that could await him and also Javier Mascherano, currently at Liverpool.

Of course, they did not commit their crimes separately: MSI, Kia Joorabchian, and Corinthians are all investigated, just like some of the former players of the Brazilian club, including Ricardinho, now at Besiktas, Carlos Alberto of Werder Bremen and the two stars we have mentioned.

Ricardinho and Carlos Alberto are accused with strucking up a deal with MSI to receive part of their salaries outside Brazil to evade tax regulations of the country. Such an agreement constitutes a crime in the country. According to another paper, they could face from two to five years in jail if found guilty.

It's not clear what Mascherano and Tevez committed, there's the vague information that they tried to dodge some tax regulations and the same sentence could await them as well.

They are at the centre of a police probe now... I don't know what to think about the whole business: it could happen that the Brazilian press' informations are simply false and of course it's possible that they are indeed guilty. We'll see what happens in this case.

UnitedRed, what exactly West Ham has to do with this story or Tevez's criminal record? You got what you wanted, now it's your trouble, not ours. Acting like a 13-year old will not change anything, other than undermining fans' reputation.
RussianHammer
Yes, I also think it's very unlikely to happen. This photo rocks, however.

He looks like he's been attacked by botox needles!
