Forgive Carlos Tevez!

Sheffield United fans should move on from the agony of relegation, according to David Carney.

As you probably remember, Carlitos scored the winner at Old Trafford on the final day of last season to save West Ham United and send down the Blades who lost to rivals Wigan.

Long and bitter legal wrangling followed due to Tevez's controversial move to West Ham but finally, Sheffield had to accept that the Hammers won't be deducted points therefore they will be relegated.

Carney, who prepares to face Tevez in an international friendly, urges everyone to forget it.

'Tevez put Sheffield United down on the last day of last season when he scored against United (us) so it's a hard one for United (the Sheffield one) fans to accept but he's a quality player so I think the fans just have to move on,' Carney said.

'I would love to score but we will just have to see how the game goes.'

I can only speak personally, but the Blades I know don't have a problem with Tevez himself, they recognise a great talent when they see one. I'm glad, for his sake, that he's ended up at your United. It's the way the whole affair was handled that leaves a bitter taste in Blades mouths.
