Silvestre Is Top Dog

Mikael Silvestre is Lyon's number one target to replace crocked club captain Cris.

The French team's coach Alain Perrin admitted that he liked the idea of signing Gabriel Heinze to replace his skipper who is set to miss six months with an injury.

However, according to French media reports, they believe Silvestre would be much more willing to sign for Lyon so he is their number one target. Of course they have a point: Mikael is French, happy to play at any position and does not wish to move to Liverpool at all costs.

I'm a bit worried though. Danny Simpson is not quite ready and he plays better as a right-back, O'Shea is right-footed so we won't have left-footed cover for Evra if we sell both Heinze and Silvestre. Sir Alex claims Heinze has a future but I don't think he meant it - so we might keep Silvestre who is no great footballer but at least provides some kind of cover.

i am sure one of silvestre or heinze will stay or we will sign someone, especially as SAF seems to want to play evra in a more attacking role.

maybe he could let them both go, and get someone else in. how about phillip lahm.

Well, Reading and Pompey proved to be real tough ones for you,. so youŽd better hope heŽs the one to save you. :)
Blue is the colour
give them heinze and silvestre if we can, in a combined deal for about 12 million then using the money buy a quality left back with the 12 and probabky have some to but back into the club afterwards
