'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Liverpool's Biggest Rival Is Lyon

Lyon would be happy to sign Gabriel Heinze as a replacement for injured captain Cris.

The French champions' Brazilian skipper is set to miss six months and Lyon are actively looking for a replacement. Coach Alain Perrin admitted it is no easy task.

'The long unavailability of our captain is added to that of Gregory Coupet and Fred, which means three key players of the team,' Perrin told L'Equipe.

'Our job is to look for, and find, the best replacement for Cris.

'The problem is that there are not a lot of players who could join us.

'The best thing would be to find a player able to play as a left central defender, and it is even more difficult to find.'

I know that so far the article does not relate to United in any way but if I add that they like the look of Gaby Heinze, wantaway left-back of ours? Tasty, isn't it?

'Gabriel Heinze? He has the right profile.' Perrin reflected.

'Above all, we have to know if, after playing a big part of his career as a left full-back, he now wants to play regularly as a central defender.'

Too good to be true? Accept Lyon's first offer when it comes in, please! He had had a good time in France before we bought him so he could do well again and probably get cured of this strange disease that he caught here: this I-want-to-move-to-Liverpool illness. It's just unhealthy, Gaby.
