Fergie on season ahead (AUDIO)

Champions Manchester United begin their title defence at home to Reading with a squad boosted over the summer by the arrivals of Owen Hargreaves, Nani, Anderson and at long last Carlos Tevez.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson speaks ahead of the dawn of a new season, and says he expects there'll be big competition for his sides' coveted title, with the Premier League as a whole improving following a summer of transfer frenzy.

Nani and Anderson, who cost a combined 30m, are both in the squad, however Carlos Tevez will miss out as he still lacks fitness following the drama of his long drawn out move from West Ham.
