Giggs And Brown Staying

Giggs And Brown Staying

Ryan Giggs and Wes Brown are both set to open talks woth the club about a new contract as neither of them wish to leave.

Giggs, who will turn 34 this November might get a one-year-extension whereas it's yet unknown what kind of deal would be offered to Wes Brown, 28 this year.

However, chief executive David Gill are confident that the duo will stay at Old Trafford.

'We haven't spoken to Ryan yet. We're always relaxed about Ryan because we trust him and he trusts us,' he said.

'I'm sure we'll look at it but we haven't discussed it yet.'

'Wes in his final year and we will sit down with him to discuss an extension,' he added.

'We will be looking to extend his contract.'

They will not have a difficult task: despite being linked with a move away from Old Trafford, Brown claims he does not want to go anywhere.

'I love playing for United and talk of me leaving this summer was rubbish.

'I have never thought of going anywhere else because it would be a step down. Having that conversation with the manager is something I dread.'

Giggs was always going to stay so that's not a surprise and I think that some people are unfair on Brown. He's a fine right-back on his day and is useful as a centre-back though I admit sometimes his lack of concentration cost the team.

He's still good cover in defence and as a local lad, it's no surprise he wants to stay.

As I said, Giggs is still great and I agree that Brown is a useful squad player. He loves playing here, whatever Fergie asks him to do and we need these kind of players.

Don't particualy rate Brown but Giggs is a world class player and a loyal servent to your club over the years. He has had his fair share of shi#e over the past three years but he has come through it stronger than ever. A plus for your team with the upcomming season drawing closer. Prepare to hand back the title though it looks so much better in our trophy cabnet. It's gonna be an exciting year though. Come On Chelsea!!!

I think this is great news seen as brown is an exceptional player to have if first teamers like vidic and rio need a rest. brown is good to fill in. Ryan of course is still one of the best in the business and eventually he will hand his role over to nani but i think it will be gradual over the next to seasons. Two true loyal man utd players.
