'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Scholes 'Looking' To The Future

Paul Scholes will go to see a second specialist next week in an attempt to discover the reason for his blurred vision.

He suffered a knock on the head during the Premiership draw at Birmingham on December 28, and a local specialist said their was no concern.

However, the 31-year-old is still suffering, and is going to have a second diagnosis.

Ferguson has maintained he will not consider Scholes for selection until his normal vision returns, even though the United chief thinks the player himself would be willing to turn out.

Sir Alex Ferguson: 'We are purely guessing what is wrong at the moment, so we will send him to another specialist next week. It is an unusual situation because the first one we sent him to is regarded as one of the top specialists in the world.

'The message we got back then was that the situation should clear up okay but Paul's vision is still blurred, so we are going to seek some clarification on the situation and see if they can diagnose something we can treat.

'I am not worried because Paul is not in great pain and nothing has shown up to make us think it is something serious,' said Ferguson.

'Knowing Paul, he would probably go out and play but you cannot take a chance on that. For Paul's benefit, it will be good to get a second opinion because it has been a few weeks now and we need to find a remedy.'
