Tevez Can`t Wait

Tevez Can`t Wait

Despite West Ham`s claims that they have no knowledge of a deal for Tevez, it would seem that a deal is imminent.

Tevez`s representatives, led by Iranian businessman Kia Joorabchian, issued a statement late yesterday evening, which countered West Hams claims by suggesting that a deal had been agreed between all parties involved, with the consent of the London-based club.

The statement read,

'We confirm that Carlos Tevez has, with the knowledge and permission of West Ham been in discussions with other clubs. Subsequently, personal terms have now been agreed with Manchester United. Carlos Tevez's representatives will work during the course of next week so that a move to Manchester United can be finalised as quickly as possible. The process for finalising the player's registration with Manchester United will be undertaken in accordance with appropriate procedures.'

So, it would seem as if a deal has been agreed, and if the deal does go through (which is looking more likely every hour) there is no doubt we will sign a player who is eager and excited at the prospect of playing at our club.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Tevez said,

'I only know Alex Ferguson from what I see from the outside but I believe he is a great manager and that I will be a good pupil for him, Manchester United is a team with a very offensive, attacking style of play. This is the system I always desire. Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world. I have spoken with him during the season and I admire him for being a star on the pitch and on the street.'

So lets hope we can wrap up a deal early next week, so we can start to prepare for next season will a squad that looks like it will provide many more memorable moments for us to all enjoy!!!

The Egg contradicts Joorabchian... interesting. One of them lies and given their recent history, I'd say both of them do.

Agree with you Zae. Really surprised United have made all these signings though. Two horse race again this year with maybe an even bigger gap to third?

If Tevez does come to you lot, it will be a two horse race - between Man U and us (Liverpool). Chelsea have only strengthened in their reserves. Man U have bought 4 top quality players. Liverpool have bought 2 top quality players. I can see us buying more. The title is definitely staying in the North.

aamir have you been smoking the funny fags? why will the addition of torres make you more consistent in the league? you'll still lose or draw games you should be winning on paper - torres or not.

Torres and according to Rafa, Voronin is a top quality player. Otherwise, he wouldn't sign him. Dales_Dad, it will make us more consistent because we will have a top quality goal-scorer. Have you been smoking the funny fags?

Aamir. Torres is a quality player I give you that. But goalscorer he isn't. I think he scored something like 14 goals last season and about 5 of them were penalties in a league where Diego Forlan once top the charts. And you say that Rafa wouldn't sign Voronin if he wasn't a top quality player. Gonzales, Pennant, Kewell, Bellamy, etc etc.

Kewell is a top quality player. He's been unlucky with injuries. Pennant has begun to show his quality. Bellamy was a top quality player at Newcastle, Blackburn and Celtic. Give Gonzalez time. Our current strikers didn't get 15 league goals last season. Let's just see how Torres does this season.
