United Unveil New Home Kit

United Unveil New Home Kit

Manchester United have today released an official picture for our new home kit for the 07/08 campaign.

The kit, which is due to release on August 1st is, to say the least very plain. Apart from a single vertical white line on the back (not visible in the photo, but strong links that there will be one suggest so) the kit is just red. The special badge crest which we saw on last season`s kit has been removed, and though the design is very simple, it works to good affect. As usual, the red kit is accompanied by white shorts and black socks, which is traditional to Manchester United.

In addition to this, there is also a new goalkeeper kit, a rich blue top, with presumably blue shorts and black socks. I actually feel this worked extremely well, and feel this is one of the better goalkeeper kits we have ever had.

One intriguing feature of this picture is the notable absence of Mikeal Silvestre (no one could miss that head!!) Could this suggest a move, or was he simply absent for the photoshoot. Whatever the situation, this would appear to be our new home kit, and though I have traditionally bought a new shirt whenever they have came out, I feel this is just too similar to last years to merit a purchase. However, I`m still waiting for our new away kit, which is rumoured to be black, as black kits seem to always look good.

That looks very much like a photo made by some geek on his computer. I could be wrong.

This ones really going to be hard for the counterfeit jersey makers aint it? Buy a 5 quid red t-shirt from primark, iron on fake emblem, sponsor and nike sign yours for 20 quid. Are Nike not too bothered anymore, ffs, if you want people to spend money on jerseys make a decent one, a bit of black and white trim wouldn't hurt now would it, it would hardly bankrupt nike, although it may mean hiring some more indonesian slave labour as nike has done for years.

never mind, lets hold our maonry for the away kit, nike cant go wrong with a black kit, surely. p.s - if you go on the man utd myspace page it has a short video of the photoshoot, looking at it with the back stripe, as well as the name and new number premiership style which you can do on the official man utd megastore, this kit has already started to grow on me, sure the fronts bad in this photo, but when seen with the back name and number designs i can see what nike have done!
