'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Parma Are Waiting For Rossi

Parma have launched a bid to sign Italian striker Giuseppe Rossi from Manchester United and are now waiting for the answer of the club.

The 20-year-old attacker enjoyed a prolific loan spell at Parma, playing a major part in keeping the once mighty club in the Serie A.

His stint at Newcastle before that had been much less successful so doubts might arise whether he's suited to English football but he'd like to get the chance at United, as he had repeatedly stressed.

Parma president Thomaso Ghirardi had never made a secret of how much he'd love to keep the player at the club and reports suggest he has launched a bid £6.5million

'We spoke with the player, with the Man Utd chief executive and with Sir Alex Ferguson, too,' Ghirardi told the Italian press.

'Now it's up to them to give us an answer.

'Also, from a financial point of view, we made our offer and I think it completely answers Manchester's expectations.

'Certainly it would be really difficult to keep the player, but we believe in this.'

Hopefully, their belief will be misguided. I still fear that the silence of the club's prominent people is an ominous sign...

We can but shouldn't. Told my opinion of it a hundred times so won't do it again. We know what he wants and what we want. What Fergie wants is still a secret.

Here's the deal. I see a player who last season got 9 goals in 19 appearances in Serie A. That's the same Serie A that's supposedly the most defensively organised in the word. That's a goals to games ratio of 0.47. Now admitedly it's not quite the same as Van Nistelrooys ratio of 0.70, but this kid can improve. If you want to erase the question marks about him playing in the league then send him on Loan to Sunderland, I'm sure Keano will be more than willing to take another one of our Youth prospects. Otherwise, keep him, play him. Simple as.

if he aint gonna play here this season we should loan him out i think selling him would be a huge mistake.
