Utd new-boy Nani has told how he cannot wait for the Community match in August, where he hopes to prove to Chelsea wrong in suggesting that Manchester United paid so much for him.
Now, to make it in the premiership I think a player needs to have three main attributes. A desire to play for his club, the strength to overcome setbacks and most important, a passionate hatred for Chelsea Football Club, and it would seem that Nani already has one of them!
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Nani spoke of how he felt Chelsea`s accusation that Man Utd paid over the odds for the talented winger were wrong, and he expressed his desire to show the London-based team first hand in the upcoming Community Shield match, which takes place on 5th August.
'I am already thinking about that game, that is where I will make my mark. I want to show Chelsea that buying me has been a great move by Manchester United.'
Now, those who know me will no that I am by far Chelsea`s greatest fan, and I believe their latest jibe is a bit hypocritical coming from the team which spent £150 million on players in Jose Mourinho`s first season. In the previous couple of seasons Chelsea have been at the forefront of the buying, spending bucket loads on absolute quality players like Shevchenko, Boulahrouz and Wright-Phillips (what`s that smell?), whilst Man Utd have spent less excessively, however this season the tables have turned and Manchester United have set the benchmark spending a combined total of £50 million on three players, whilst Chelsea have spent nothing, bringing in benchwarmers Sidwell, Pizarro and Ben Haim. But have we come to expect anything else from the former (yes, FORMER) premiership champions.
Any excuse to have a go at Chelsea, and I`m glad to see that Nani agrees with me, but do you?
