'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Officer Ryan Giggs!

Giggsy has been named on the Queen's Birthday Honours List: he'll become Officer of the British Empire.

The Welsh Wizard won a record ninth Premiership title last season and passed the 700 mark in terms of United appearances.

His great form has been deservedly acclaimed and now he's got official recognition for his services to football.

'I couldn't have been more pleased if he was a close relative,' Sir Bobby Charlton said. 'Ryan is a fantastic member of Manchester United and the ultimate professional.

'Added to that his marvellous skills and his services to football make him a pleasure to watch. If only he'd have played for England!'

Congratulations Giggsy!

Long overdue reward for a great footballer!

Well said! Amid all the talks about Beckham receiving knighthood in the near future, it was just about time that Giggsy's been rewarded.

Giggsy is one of Man Utd hero's totally overlooked, Its a great award for a fantastic player, plus i used to fancy him as a young girl so i've always had a soft spot for him

Scholesy would deserve one, too, now I come to think of it.

OBE for kicking a ball around which by the way is a hobby, What a Fecking travisty to people who actually do a real job. I don't think any footballer deserves a OBE/MBE or a fecking Knighthood when you have real people risking there lives everyday for this country, Where are there awards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
