Pique for Gudjohnsen?

Reports emanating from Spain are claiming that Barcelona could be willing to let unsettled striker Eidur Gudjohnsen leave for Manchester United, as part of a swap deal including United youngster Gerard Pique, once of the Catalonian giants.

Though Eidur`s father and agent, Arnor Gudjohnsen has recently stated that his son has no desire to return to the Premiership after a long and prosperous reign with Chelsea, reports about a switch to United are growing rapidly.

However, for now Barcelona are concentrating entirely on Sunday`s game at already relegated Gimnastic, a game which could see Barcelona crowned champions. Talking to Sky Sports, a club spokesman said,

'Our objective is to win the last match and to win La Liga, the question of players is on stand-by until the end of the season.'

Though I would hate to see such a young prospect as Pique leave the club, there is already talk of him making his loan move to Real Zaragoza permanent in a £6 million deal, and if instead the deal bought Eidur Gudjohnsen, a player I rate very highly, it would sure to be a good deal.

However, for now it is all swings and roundabouts, and I guess we will have to wait until after Sunday to see if these rumours have any truth in them.

if pique wants to go and we can do a straight swap without us giving any money to barcelona i think its a good idea.

This is a tough one, Gudjohnsen is a good player but Pique showed how good he was in spain and he can only get better, if barca want to sign him it says it all really, pique and evans playing in defence in a few years sounds good.
