Jussi to join Old Trafford?

Yet again, we seem to be linked with a player in a position which we are already more than covered for. This time, it seems Bolton keeper, Jussi Jaaskelainen is being linked with a move to Old Trafford after rejecting Bolton`s latest contract offer.

The 32 year old is thought to want to move on after 10 loyal years of service to the club, and whilst talking to Sky Sports News, agent Peter Harrison explained his clients decision.

'He is happy to see out the last year of his current contract at the Reebok but at the moment that's as far as it goes. He has given 10 years' great service to Bolton and he is recognized as one of the top three keepers in the Premiership, if not the best."

Though I don`t doubt this fact, as I personally believe Jussi, along with Brad Friedel are two of the most "underrated" goalkeepers in our league. However, do we really need a 32 year old goalkeeper with Van Der Sar, Kuszczak and Ben Foster in the ranks? I think not.

And with a reported £2 million bid from Sunderland, hopefully we wont see Jussi at Old Trafford next season, not because I don`t thinks he`s good enough (he is), but I don`t thinks its fair on the club or the player, and I believe he will be much more suited at a team like Sunderland, where he will be number one without doubt.
