United to Snatch Gunners Target?

After stalling for so long, it seems as if FK Haugesund are growing increasingly frustrated with Arsenals defiance in paying the correct fee for the Norwegian starlet Havard Nordveit.

It is believed that Arsenal have tabled a £1.8 million bid for the 16 year old, with FK Haugesund seemingly defiant to sell the talented defender for what they see as too little a fee.

It is now believed that FK Haugesund are beginning to lose patience with Arsenal , and may prompt bids from other suitors to the Norwegian, with Manchester United being confirmed as one of a number of European teams tracking him by FK Haugesund director Nils Halvor Berge .

'Havard is an exceptional talent in Europe. Havard wants to join Arsenal, but Manchester United, Bordeaux, Ajax and clubs from Italy and Spain are also following him. We have had many contacts with other clubs in Europe and know what they are willing to pay for him.'

Though he is a bright talent, I do not think we need any more young defenders, with Pique, Evans and Lee still on the books, as well as the impending arrival of teenage Brazilian sensations, Fabio and Raphael.

Nonetheless, you can never have enough future talent, and if we were to get Nordveit, I`m sure he would turn out good, but to see him join our arch-rivals in London would not be a very bitter pill to swallow.

We were reportedly intrested last year. So we might get him

I think you'll find it's the other way round, United have been linked with him for a fair while, Arsenal have only come into the fold in the last few weeks.

why have two articles about this?

Suppose it would have helped if I had read the whole article. I apologise, I've read soooo many articles about this, I didn't bother to read the whole thing.

As you said, we have more than enough talented defenders with Evans, Pique, Cathcart, Raphael, Fabio, Simpson and Lee all at the club. Talented young strikers and central midfielders would be welcome.

reports are linking pique in a swap deal for gudjohnson with barcelona

If we got him now for 1.6 million, loaned him out for a few seasons and he doesnt make the grade at OT we could possibly sell him for double our outlay. It is good to see how talented our youngsters are many would walk into top end championship or mid table prem teams now.
