Foster plays down injury

Manchester United goalkeeper, Ben Foster has played down the risk of his injury plaguing what would be his first full season for the club.

Foster, who was recently diagnosed with cruciate ligament damage, is expected to have surgery on his problem right knee, yet the 24 year old does not believe that the surgery necessarily means he will miss the start of next season.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Foster stated that his knee was not causing him much discomfort, "It's irritating rather than really painful. I thought it had cleared up after it troubled me last season. I'm having it scanned and we'll take it from there but it's very early to say what the outcome may be". Foster then went on to and try and allay fears that the injury could taint his first season at the club he signed for in July 2005. "I suppose if something has to be done this is the best time because I've got loads of time before the start of the new season.'

Though it is still unknown when Ben Foster will be back to full fitness, the news is certainly much more positive than two days ago, and I, among with the rest of the United fans here at Vital Football would like to wish Ben a quick and speedy recovery.
