United Don't Want Anelka

Nicolas Anelka won't join Manchester United as the Reds confirmed they don't want to make a move for him.

The tabloids reckon Sir Alex is still keen on a striker but still the Anelka rumour came out of the blue and it was a bit more substantial than the usual nonsense.

The player himself admitted that a move to United would be too good to turn down but he won't have the chance to do it, according to Bolton chairman Phil Gartside.

'David Gill has confirmed to me that Manchester United has no interest in Nicolas Anelka,' he told bwfc.co.uk.

'Sammy Lee is looking to build a squad for next season and we absolutely have no interest in selling any of our better players. Nicolas, of course, is one such player.'

Thank God! Vital'll soon bring you another fine rumour column, full of players whom I'd be happy to see here!
