United Seal Breathtaking Deals

United have scored one of the most amazing transfer coups of the summer: Nani and Anderson are both set to join the Reds.

Oh my god. I've just arrived home to realise that our beloved United made fools of a lot of other clubs who were all after highly-rated teenagers of Nani and Anderson. The pair are set to sign, with only the formalities, including a medical, are still to be concluded.

Nani, now at Sporting Lisbon, turns 21 in November. He's a pacy winger in the mould of Cristiano Ronaldo - no doubt that he's singled out by Fergie as the successor of Giggs.

The capture of Anderson is the bigger surprise, for me at least. Portuguese Nani'd been linked to us ages ago but it was widely assumed that Porto's 19-year-old Brazilian starlet would be heading for Spain or Italy if he left Mourinho's former team.

The guy's been amazing for Porto since he had joined in 2005. He's already got Champions League experience (Nani as well). He's been named in the Brazil squad for this summer's Copa America so I expect securing a work permit for him would not be too much of a problem.

Anderson is an attacking midfielder who can play just about everywhere where attacking qualities are required. I can't really see him settling into a 4-4-2 system but if Fergie opts for a 4-5-1 or a 4-3-3 (as it seems likely) then he could be a wonderful asset for us.

I'm not sure they'll turn out to be great signings and as I had said earlier, I'm not convinced we need a player like Nani but I can't help being impressed. It's May 30 but United have already signed three major players - Fergie does not want to waste his time, that's clear.

exellent signings, gotta take my hat off to GLAZERS for going through with their promise. nani, anderson, hargreaves and hopefully a top-calss striker (eg huntelaar) and were set for yet another great season. COME ON UTD!!!!!!!

What exactly is going to be Man U's first choice midfield next year? This coup really is scary for the rest of us, especially seeing you nicked our Nani!! Ah well, in Jol we trust :-)

excellent signings, very jealous, and you still have hargreaves to come.. if there is one thing fergie knows how to do, and thats rebuild a team.. still they now will have to prove themselves.

Looks like it's going to be pretty crowded in the United midfield next year. Giggs, Ronaldo, Scholes, Carrick, Park, Richardson, Fletcher, Eagles, Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson! Where are you going to fit all these players? Who's going to be on their way out? With so many midfielders coming in surely one or more of Park, Richardson, Fletcher and Eagles won't be at Old Trafford next year? I can see Eagles going out on loan but surely some of the others will be sold?

If i was united i wouldnt be that happy about the signings as they are nowhere near good enough for first team. They may be able to play against reading but they will be crunched against Bolton and Everton.

goofle,coming from an arsenal fan who cant beat the likes of bolton and everton to save their life, maybe you should look before you type. And also, i believe they are more than god enough forfirst team, nani as a replacement on the left for giggs, and anderson can play all along the midfield and up top. Both great signings, and this is more a long-term signing than short-term, building for the future as giggs (replacement nani), scholes(replacement hargreaves/anderson), van der sar(replacement foster) and neville will not be able to go on forever.

When Porto played at the Emirates last season in the Champions league he was by far the best Porto player on the pitch. He's a strong runner and can beat players, although his final ball was sometimes suspect. But he's only 20 years old so that will come. I was impressed with him. Looks like you've got yourself a good'un there. Don't know much about Nani though.
