Fergie Points At Blackburn Game

Despite our unexpected home defeat at the hands of West Ham, Sir Alex's been in a buoyant mood since the game.

The United boss was asked which league game he thought was the best. Our Premiership campaign, of course, was full of dazzling displays but apparently, he had no trouble of selecting the finest of them.

It would be the 4-1 thrashing of Blackburn. Derbyshire put them ahead on 29 minutes and then they started to ride their luck. All of Rovers' hopes were laid on Brad Friedel who did not disappoint them, as he made a number of astonishing saves to deny our strikers.

The second half started in similar fashion but on 61 minutes, Scholes decided he had had enough and grabbed the game by the scruff of its neck. After the equaliser, it was clear Balckburn would not be able to withstand our heavy pressure and despite missing some glaring chances, we swept them away with a magnificent performance.

'That day was fantastic and I think it brought everyone closer together,' Sir Alex said. 'It emphasised that we could come from behind at home and put on a fantastic performance.

'And the fans were really up for it; it was like a European night. The combination of those two forces was just too much for Blackburn. Once we got a little momentum there was no way back for them.'

So, do you agree with him? We enlisted six league games, you should select which was the best. Take a look at our latest poll!
