Ball Admits Stamping
Michael Ball accepted an FA charge for stamping on Cristiano Ronaldo in the recent derby game that almost sealed United's league title.
The City full-back stamped on Ronaldo's stomach in the second minute of the game when ref Rob Styles wasn't looking. He was lucky to avoid a straight red but in the 34th minute he got his punishment: he fouled Ronaldo in the box and the Portuguese converted the penalty.
Ten minutes from time, Ball almost made crucial impact again: this time he dived near Wes Brown to draw a penalty but Vassell missed that.
The FA made it clear that they would view a video evidence and he's charged with violent conduct.
'I deeply regret what I did and have accepted the FA's charge without hesitation. I have also sent a personal apology to Cristiano,' Ball told City's Web site.
'My action should not be seen on a football pitch and I know we have a responsibility at Premier League level to set a good example to the whole football community.'
Well, that was the least he could do. It will take United fans a very, very long time to forgive his despicable behaviour.

I am not a Man U fan by any stretch but that was an appalling challenge. A 3 game ban is a let off in my opnion.

Pathetic, Stamping a winker gives you a 3 game ban, but almost pushing your knee through a goalies head gives you nothing? Pathetic....
