Scholes Has No Fear

The prospect of missing yet another Champions League final does not scare Paul Scholes as we prepare to take on Milan.

I had stated that we should place Scholes on the bench for the Milan game but if Rio does not get fit, we'll have no choice but to play him, for Fletcher will be needed in defence.

No wonder Sir Alex warned Scholes to be careful about his tackling, try to stay on his feet to avoid a booking that would rule him out of final should we get there.

The player himself, though, insists he won't change his game as the team's interests come first.

'I won't let the bookings situation bother me," he told the official website. "It's just another game and another chance to get to a Champions League final.'

'I don't think of it being more important to get through because of what happened to me last time.'

'It is a major tournament, one that every team in Europe wants to be involved in. It still feels the same as the semi-final was in 1999. We all want to get there and we all want to win it if we do.'

I strongly believe it's just for the press: Scholesy was extremely careful during the first leg so expect something similar in the San Siro.
