'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cantona Praises Fans

Eric Cantona hailed Sir Alex Ferguson and the United fans for persuading Ronaldo to stay at Manchester United.

Canto has not forgotten United fans' unwavering support toward him during his eight-month ban after the incident at Crystal Palace. And he reckons the fans haven't forgotten, too.

'Not all the fans would react as Manchester United fans reacted to the World Cup with Ronaldo - how they reacted to me when I was banned,' he told Sky Sports News.

'This mentality, this philosophy, it's important for players to feel we have people behind us, who trust us, give us confidence when we need to express ourselves.

'Especially in more difficult moments, it's important for the player in that difficult moment.'

You all know what he's talking about, don't you? Anyone didn't hear about the Rooney-Ronaldo case after the World Cup was surely on the moon in those days...

Back to Canto: he hailed Fergie, too, for persuading the player who turned out to be a diamond for us this season.

'It's important for the other ones that they know that if they have a difficult moment all the fans and the manager will be behind them to help them.'

I wacthe Ronaldo play for Portugal at the Emirates Stadium. Why that boy cheats the way he does god only knows. He has had one good season so I wont get carried away. Has a long wat to go before he is mentioned in the smae breath as Cantona & Henry.
